Born in Brooklyn, she grew up on Lake Superior in Duluth, Minnesota, earned a B.A. from the University of Toronto, a Masters of Social Work and MA in English, Creative Writing, from University of Minnesota, and worked in public child welfare for several decades. She takes pictures of ears, loves Monteverdi, Sardinian chant, Mahler and Bach, The Incredible String Band and bicycling in San Francisco. Beside Myself, a book of flash fiction, is her current project. She teaches writing, offers editing services and wishes everyone would start film groups to watch women-directed movies. See page above.
